Temperature Control and Corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steel Casting

Ⅰ. How to control the temperature of stainless steel casting reasonably?

When we make stainless steel castings, we will control the temperature. If the temperature is not well controlled, the performance of the fired stainless steel casting will be seriously affected. Therefore, the temperature control of stainless steel casting must strictly comply with the requirements.

1. The casting temperature of stainless steel casting has a great influence on the quality of cast steel. The casting temperature range should be determined according to the structure of cast steel and the type of cast alloy.

According to the reasonable selection of the carbon steel pouring temperature model, the general pouring temperature of stainless steel casting is 1540-1580℃ (the temperature of molten steel in the ladle).

2. The stainless steel casting is an important product for many enterprises, and the pouring temperature is determined during the pouring process. The pouring temperature of custom stainless steel casting has a great influence on the quality of cast steel, and the casting temperature range should be determined according to the type of cast steel structure and casting alloy.

3. General ss casting manufacturerd set the lower limit of nickel control at around 8% in order to reduce production costs.

When the ratio of chromium to nickel reaches a critical value, a certain amount of ferrite appears in the steel structure. Ferrite is magnetic, and solution treatment at 1050-1100℃ can make ferrite completely integrated into non-magnetic austenite.

Ⅱ. How about the corrosion resistance of stainless steel casting?

Stainless steel casting is the general term for steel castings produced from various stainless steel materials.

Stainless steel casting is mainly used in various media corrosion conditions. The material of stainless steel casting is stainless steel, so what about the corrosion resistance of stainless steel castings?

The corrosion resistance of stainless steel casting depends on chromium, but because chromium is one of the components of steel, protection methods vary.

When the addition amount of chromium reaches 10.5%, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel increases significantly, but when the chromium content is higher, it is not obvious although the corrosion resistance can still be improved.

It is often possible to alloy steel with chromium by changing the type of surface oxide to a surface oxide similar to that formed on pure chromium metal. This tightly adhered chromium-rich oxide protects the surface from further oxidation .
